The Witcher

It is worth confessing that The Witcher came to the masses through the efforts of CD Project Red, which gave the world one of the best series in the gaming industry. Many, including myself, got acquainted with the work of Andrzej Sapkowski thanks to the gaming industry. What's the secret of the trilogy? Obviously, in the ability to work with the original source, which neither Netflix nor specifically Lauren Schmidt Hissrich excelled at.

Mr. Sapkowski's books are a separate work of art that deserves close attention. Especially the first works, the plot of which was the basis of the brainchild of Netflix. More precisely, it was strangely mixed, diluted with politically correct cranberries, seasoned with a bunch of money and a dubious gag with attempts at feminism in its unhealthy form.

What do you think about The Witcher Netflix series?

huh... :) Henry Cavill's Geralt of Rivia is not perfect, but also not really bad :) And no, the point is not at all in the image from the games that has gone to the masses, the fact is that on the screen we have a rather polished bodybuilder in an amusingly pulled-on wig, faintly resembling a tramp, battered by life, which is the book origin. Henry tries, you need to give him his due (perhaps more than anyone else), but either gives out too serious a face, or puts on a mask of alienation - it is impossible to convey the entire spectrum of emotions. Yet, sadly, he's one of the show's few modest pluses.

I must say right away that I am an ardent admirer of Pan Sapkowski's work and have read all of his books about the Witcher Geralt.

Therefore, it is obvious that I was really looking forward to the series.

It didn’t happen, it didn’t.

The authors of the series, instead of working on the plot, concept, etc., unfortunately only tried to please as many minorities as possible. And no, I'm not against African American elves and the like. It's just that the creators of the series did not forget to do it. But it's okay to write a script, work on a production, etc. - and why, people are already eating it?

The plot and the main theme of the book were greatly simplified and perverted, and if the result was something worthy, it would be forgivable, but in fact the series turned out to be about nothing. Even the nonlinearity of the plot, the creators were not able to use as a counter, and therefore it only spoiled the impression.

Yes, as a person familiar with the original source, it was more or less clear to me what was happening, but for the uninformed ... It is unlikely that they liked it.

Generally speaking, The Witcher performed by Henry Cavill, is not bad and even has a place to be, but with the character Yenifer (Anya Chalotra) he has absolutely no chemistry. Well, Yenifer from Vengeberg, performed by the above-mentioned actress from a wise, albeit too emotional, woman, turned into a hysterical woman with an inferiority complex.

noooo...............!!!!! the old Polish TV series was better - much better. Despite the poor effects, it was much more atmospheric and had more of the real in it.
