Only one thing stops me yet, it seems to work on XP but on steam only from 7, should I be afraid?

Using XP in 2017 qualifies for an IT Darwin Award.

I have already wanted to migrate to 7 a few times, but each time I was stopped by Ms alone and I do not feel like 10 yet

It is not about the quality of the system, but about security. Vista is now safer than XP. Every Microsoft system eventually loses support in the form of component updates and bug fixes. For Windows XP, this support ended on April 8, 2014, which means that for almost 3 years it has been deprived of internal protection against new viruses, Trojans, exploits and any other kind of network attacks. For Vista, the same thing will happen in April, so I wouldn't be looking at this system in the future. Windows 7 will lose its support in 2020, 8 in 2023, 10 in 2025.

I know it, but let's be honest, I do not care about data in the era of widespread tracking, I regularly check network traffic or that someone does not use me and that's all, I am not afraid of losing data because everything is online, it only means games.

Every device on the LAN is a gateway to the LAN. And traffic tracking can turn out to be imperfect, for example, in an attack that entails a sluggish system process that previously used the network as well. Ofc, it can be noticed that, for example, it uses other resources than usual in a suspicious way, but it should be noted, and with small differences it can be unclear.
