It's hard to say after 2 hours of play, when I haven't raised anyone yet. There are not as many options as in MoOIII (the best 4x ever), but the game is very enjoyable. Plus, pretty cool ship design (though StarDrive was much better).

I feel like it too. Although I am never in a hurry with such people. Maybe for a few extras, if they balance better, optimize and expand.
I like creating some challenges for the game later.
On the one hand, fallen empires that can scold you if they don't like what you are doing (depending on their philosophy, e.g. colonizing worlds they consider to be sanctuaries; studying advanced AI that could get out of control; getting too close to them empire with its colonies).
On the other hand, crises - A.I. rebellion, invasion from beyond the galaxy, invasion from another dimension.
And there's a lot of room for fashion in it.
I think love is stronger than habits or circumstances. I think it is possible to keep yourself for someone for a long time and still remember why you were waiting when she comes at last.

I played Stellaris a bit and some interesting concepts are nicely balanced by a primitive and rude combat system in which the pinnacle of finesse is a mock flight and wars are either tedious raids on mining stations or general battles over which we have no control. So I am quite skeptical.
